Heading to the west of Mongolia

The next part of our journey was the road towards the Eagle Festival. This 6 day trip had besides wonderful spots, amazing company, great food and some cold days.

This 4×4 Van is Russian made. Not very fast but it was definitely a powerful machine and it provided us an amazing time with the group we travelled with!

This was one of the places in which we stayed for camping. By coincidence it was my birthday and besides having a really fun evening, the camping tent turned into a really comfortable place to sleep considering the -10 degrees Celcius that night.

Fire was started and so did the birthday party!

Wide wide lands of mongolia

Ok not everything about our van was perfect. We had a flat tire only once, so not bad.

Second camping day

The sunset is always spectacular, but experiencing it while you see horses running down from the top of the mountain to drink some water . That was better than a NatGeo documentary…. it was just magical!

Next morning we were surprised again but this time with camels getting also their water

Nice way to start the day

So we continued our way to the west and stopped by in a random town to supply ourselves with some extra food

Karaoke night turned into a really fun experience

On the way to the west we passed a charcoal mine

Almost reaching Ölgii

Exploring Ölgii which is the city where the Eagle Festival takes place

Ölgii´s airport toilet

The best solution for those cold days in this country
