The days we celebrated ¨Feast of sacrifice¨ in Tajikistan

So we made it to our hostel and started chatting with the owner. The unpleasant surprise was that restaurants were closed due to the three days muslim celebration of ¨feast of sacrifice¨ . As we probably looked pretty hungry, the owner invited us to have dinner with his family.

It was a full table that had all sort of options! Immediately we felt at home, it was a warm welcome to this country with friendly people and lots of delicious food.

Next day our tour for 7 days through the Pamir started. We had the luck that our driver was a very kind, polite and a religious man who had the best intention of making our journey as comfortable as possible.

In almost each village, people were giving us fruits, food or just sincere smiles. In one town the people invited us to join their festivity.

Us enjoying the delicious food

It was a nice surprise to me that the women invited me to join their room to eat together. They were super proud not only to share their food, tea and sweets but also their joy and celebrations.

It was an unforgettable time for us, in which they were happy to share their traditions and festivities with us!
